Tackle The Wapta Traverse With Us!
The Wapta is a huge 35 km long Icefield with 5 huts strategically placed for the alpine touring enthusiast.
With a long rich history of mountaineering and skiing it is a must do destination for the keen adventure seeking ski tourer and splitboarder. The huts are perfectly set apart for the average person to travel comfortably in one day and allow for skiing or mountaineering along the way.
There are several ways to do this traverse and people can customize it based on previous tours, length of trip and time or how much skiing you want to do along the way. The huts can accommodate large groups and tend to book up for the prime time season of March/April.
We offer private group bookings with custom itinerary and also the Classic Wapta.
The Classic Wapta
Is a 4 night and 5 day Traverse. Over the course of the trip you will walk and ski the entire length of the Icefield and stay at the original four huts along the way. This is an amazing tour with jaw dropping views, enormous vistas, memorable huts and big peaks.
We like to run this trip mid April to make the most of the weather and good coverage on the Icefied.
